Based on Cork Harbour, we are conveniently located within a 25 minutes of Cork Airport, Cork City and 5 minutes from Cobh Train Station. You’ll never be far from amenities such as toilets, showers, water, covered BBQ area, indoor self-catering kitchen, tuck shop and of course – a camp-fire circle. The 15 acre site hosts mature woodlands to explore and is situated adjacent to Cuskinny Bay. Here groups can swim, fish, beach-comb or go birdwatching in the famous Cuskinny Marsh Bird Sanctuary. We are delighted to offer a special package for a week long summer camp to Scout and Guide groups that includes camp fees and the following suggested itinerary…

Scout and Guide Camp 2017

Day 1 - Set up camp

Welcome hot chocolate! Tea or coffee for leaders!

Day 2 – Sea Adventure Experience

Kayaking and raft building just beside us in Cuskinny Bay – (half-day)

Day 3 – Spike Island Day

Visit Cork Harbour’s own Alcatraz.  A boat trip from Cobh departs and brings you out to Spike Island, a former prison and military fort, includes a guided tour. Takes approx. 3 hours.

Day 4 – Adventure day

Get your adrenaline pumping! Choose any two of the following activities:  Grass Sledging, Mucky Obstacle Course, Tree Climbing, Archery or Real Angry Birds Giant Slingshot Challenge - (half-day)

Day 5 – Orienteering Puzzle Challenge

Morning activity – using orienteering maps of Cuskinny, teams have to navigate their way to each check point where they will have to solve a puzzle challenge.

You can also take this day to explore the surrounding Cuskinny Marsh, Marlogue Woods or go swimming! Crab lines provided so you can try your luck Crab fishing.

Day 6 – Survival Skills day

Gain all the knowledge you need to survive in the wild! Choose any two of the following activities: shelter building, cooking in the wild, survival skills (fire starting, food foraging and sourcing drinking water) or medivac challenge - (half-day)

Day 7 – Discover Cork Harbour

Discover Cork Harbour with an adventure on a self-drive boat from Cork Harbour Boat Hire or visit the The Titanic Experience and take a tour on Cobh Road Train or a trip to Spike Island.

Day 8 – Break camp
